History of NECA
National Electrical Contractors Association, Ohio/Michigan Chapter was founded in 1929 to serve the Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan electrical industry. The purpose and objectives of NECA are to represent, promote, and advance the interests of the electrical contracting industry and the consumers who use these services.
We promote and encourage efficient, safe and economical electrical installations. We encourage active competition and sound, ethical business practices, with promotion of cooperation and good will among the members of the electrical contracting industry, the electricians working for them, members of other construction trades, governmental bodies, and the public. NECA fosters and conducts training programs to keep the Toledo area electrical contractors and electricians on the cutting edge of technology.
Our organization is made up of Contractor Members and Associate Members. Contractor Members are electrical contractors covering all aspects of the Commercial, Residential, Industrial, and Voice-Data-Video electrical markets. Associate Members include architects, engineers, and material supply houses. The Chapter is very proud of its active members, and their record of volunteering valuable time for the betterment of the industry, making our community a better place to work and live.

The jurisdiction of NECA's Ohio/Michigan Chapter covers the following counties in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan:
Ohio counties: Defiance, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Lucas, Ottawa, Paulding, Putman, Sandusky, Seneca, Williams, and Wood
Michigan counties: Hillsdale, Lenawee, and Monroe
